Output format

Picking a different format also converts the file. WebP is usually smallest; JPG is the most compatible.

Applies to JPG and WebP. PNG is lossless, so quality doesn't change it — resizing does.

Only shrinks images that are larger than the limit. Aspect ratio is always kept.

How it works

STEP 01

You drop a file in

It loads straight into this page's memory. There is no upload — the file never travels over the internet.

STEP 02

Your browser does the work

The built-in Canvas engine re-encodes the image at your chosen quality, size and format, on your own device.

STEP 03

You download the result

One by one, all together as a ZIP, or combined into a single PDF. Close the tab and everything is gone.

Good to know

  • JPG compresses best — the quality slider alone often cuts 60–85% off a photo.
  • PNG is lossless, so re-saving one barely shrinks it. To slim a PNG, resize it or convert it to WebP / JPG using the format setting.
  • Animated GIFs become a single still frame when re-encoded, and phone-only formats like HEIC can't be read by most browsers.
  • Coming next: PDF compression and more file conversions are planned for this tool — image compression and conversion are what's live today.
